MG Motor India has teased the 2022 Hector yet again. While the previous teaser showed us the updated SUV’s infotainment system, this new teaser gives us a close look at the front fascia of the SUV. MG has also revealed that the 2022 Hector will be launched by the end of 2022 and that it will continue to co-exist with current Hector due to its strong demand.

The 2022 Hector will feature a few cosmetic changes to make it look fresh. As highlighted in the teaser, it will get an Argyle-Inspired Diamond Mesh Grille. The grille neatly merges into the familiar LED DRLs. The DRLs are further accentuated by a chrome underline which extends further down. The LED headlights will be placed lower down in the front bumper just like before. One can also notice the module for ADAS placed between the front skid plate. Other than this, we also expect the new Hector to come with a different design for the alloy wheels and a tweaked design for the rear.

MG describes that the interiors of the Hector will be a ‘Symphony of Luxury’. Offering a cinematic experience, the new MG Hector will be equipped with India’s largest 14-inch HD Portrait Infotainment System. The infotainment system will come with features like wifi connectivity, inbuilt navigation, MG weather app, icall, and smartphone connectivity. The center console will be redesigned to accommodate the new screen and the center A/C vents will now have a horizontal orientation as opposed to the vertical orientation of the current one. The gear selector will get a new design and so will the engine start/stop button.

At heart, the new MG Hector is expected to be the same. It gets a 1.5L Turbo Petrol engine that belts out 141 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The second engine is a 1.5L Petrol-Hybrid unit that also delivers 141 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque and the last is a 2.0L Diesel engine that produces the most power at 167 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a CVT, DCT and a 6-speed manual.
