2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Launched At ₹3.99 Lakh!

Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Alto K10 at ₹3.99 lakh. The Alto K10 makes a comeback after almost two years since the previous generation was discontinued once the BS6 era kicked in. The new Alto K10 is positioned above the current Alto 800 and it is more upmarket as well. The Alto K10 goes up against the likes of the Renault Kwid. Let’s take a look at everything new about the Alto K10:

Price

Design

The new Alto K10 measures  3,530mm in length, 1,490mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,380mm. This makes it around 85mm longer, 45mm taller, and has a 20mm longer wheelbase when compared to the Alto 800. However, its width remains the same at 1490 mm. It has a gross weight of 1,150 kg. The Alto K10 is based on Maruti’s Heartect platform which underpins other small cars from the carmaker. The Alto K10 gets a rounded design many design elements borrowed from the new Celerio. It gets a pair of sweptback halogen headlamps and a large honeycomb grille in the front. Move to the side and you’ll notice the 13-inch wheels and flap-type door handles. The rear is where many people would confuse it with the Celerio thanks to the taillamps.

Interior

The interior of the Alto K10 gets an all-black theme with an upright dashboard. The front power window controls are placed below the touchscreen just like the Celerio as well. It gets a new steering wheel with steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls. It gets a digital instrument cluster that misses out on a tachometer. The center stage is taken up by Maruti’s Smart Studio infotainment system which comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Other than this, the new Alto K10 offers features such as USB ports, central locking with a remote key, and 4 speakers. The boot space is rated at 214 litres. In terms of safety, the new Alto K10 comes with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and ABS and EBD.

Powertrain

The new Alto K10 is powered by the 1.0-liter K10C DualJet engine that produces 67hp and 89Nm. This is the same engine that does duty on the Celerio and the S-Presso. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT. It delivers 24.90 km/l in the AMT and 24.39 km/l in the manual guise.

Accessories, Colors, and Variants

The Alto K10 is offered with Impacto and Glinto accessory packages which come with specific themes. Maruti Suzuki is offering 6 colors for the Alto K10 including the new Sizzling Red, Speedy Blue and Earth Gold. The other 3 colors are white, grey and silver. The Alto K10 is available in 4 variants including STD, LXI, VXI, and VXI+. The AMT is available in VXI and VXI+ variants.
