Just in case the new Jaguar XJR isn’t sporty enough for you, Tata group owned British premium car maker Jaguar has unveiled the very sporty Jaguar XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show.

The new car is basically a more serious version of the XKR-S and gets all the bits to make it more suitable for race-track driving. The XKR-S GT gets an aero kit that endows the car with more downforce and a re-tuned suspension setup that makes the car much more apt for going apex hunting.

The XKR-S GT has a max down force of 145 kgs and the new variant of the XKR-S becomes the first road going Jag to get a 6 piston calliper brake setup for front and 4 piston calliper setup for the rear. The car has a wider front track, increased camber, revised bushings and a new steering system.

The 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT is powered by the carmaker’s supercharged V8 engine that has a max power output of 550PS and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The car can accelerate from standstill to 100 kmph in a supercar rivalling 3.9 seconds and hit a top whack of 298 kmph.

Only 30 units of the new 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT will be built.
