Regulars here would know that we have been regularly posting in detail about the India bound Kawasaki Ninja 300 sportsbike. The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300, which made its public debut last year, has been spotted on Indian roads on several occasions and it is now well known news that the new bike will be launched in our country on April 10. The bookings for the bike are already open at all Bajaj-Kawasaki dealers across India. These dealers have already received the first batch of Ninja 300 bikes. In one of the images seen here, the Ninja 300 is seen parked alongside the earlier generation Ninja 250 that has been on sale in India.

Looking at the specifications sheet, it can be said that the Ninja 300R would be sportier than the 250R and will be a definite step ahead towards filling the void that prevails between the 250cc and the 600cc performance motorcycles.

Powering the Ninja 300 is a 296cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin motor which benefits from dual throttle valves. The Ninja 300 has a peak power output of 39 PS@11000 RPM and has a max torque output of 27 Nm@10,000 RPM. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a six speed manual gearbox. The footwear on the new bike is courtesy a 110 section tire up front and a 140 section tire at the rear.

It is expected that the bike would have an on road price of close INR 4 lakhs.

The new Kawasaki Ninja 300R is very well poised to open gates to a new segment in Indian bike market and should appeal to those who have always been wishing a wee bit more from entry level sportsbikes.

  1. Kawasaki has done it again…….Launched a great yet grossly overpriced bike. IMO 4 Lakh price tag is simply absurd for this bike.
