So Audi’s R18 paid a visit to the Porsche headquarters in Zuffenhausen in order to welcome them back to Le Mans which you can watch in the interesting video below.
The R18 went through a horrific crash during practice at Le Mans while being driven by Loic Duval, who thankfully suffered only minor abrasions as the crash shredded the car into pieces. Audi engineers worked overnight to restore the car which went off the track doing speeds in excess of 270 kmph. Marc Gene will now replace Loic for the qualifying laps to be completed. This incident however goes on to show just how robust and advanced the safety measures are in these cars, for the driver to escape only with a few scratches even in an incident like this.
