Today, at the back of Kawasaki Z1000 and Ninja 1000 India launch event, Kawasaki India announced that it would launch a new bike in India in January next year. While the bike maker refrained from divulging any details on the upcoming bike, there are very good chances that the next Kawasaki that’s headed our way is the Z800. The fact that Kawasaki India’s exclusive dealership in Pune has already put on display the Z800 further consolidates our belief.

The Kawasaki Z800 will be built in Thailand and will come to us via CKD route.

The Kawasaki Z800 will play the perfect baby brother to the newly launched Z1000 and the upcoming streetfighter motorcycle might very well open the gates to an altogether new segment of high powered middleweight streetfighters in India.

The new Z800 boasts of a radical design and is arguably among the tastiest looking naked bikes in the bike maker’s arsenal. The new Z800 weighs 229kgs and is powered by a 806cc in-line four cylinder DOHC motor that has  max power of 113PS @ 10,200rpm and peak torque of 83Nm @ 8,000rpm.

The bike boasts of a set of 41mm adjustable KYB upside-down front forks and a monoshock suspension for the rear. The bike comes with ABS fitted as standard.

In India, the new Kawasaki Z800 could be priced pretty competitively and go on sale with at a price of approx INR 7.5 lakhs.

Currently, Kawasaki sells six models in India. These include- Ninja 300, Ninja 650R, ZX10R, ZX14R, newly launched Z1000 and newly launched Ninja 1000. Kawasaki today announced that its eyeing 20 percent market share by 2015 and going by the rate at which it is expanding its product portfolio and strengthening its dealer network, don’t be too surprised to see the international bike maker doing really well in our fast growing bike market.
