VIDEO: Watch Russian off-roaders showing off their immense capabilities on snow, ice and water!

In one of our recent stories, we took a look at a Russian 8-wheeled all-terrain vehicle called the Avtoros Shaman 8×8. That thing was positively huge and pretty crazy in its own right, but there are many more ludicrous off-roaders that roam the vastness of Russia. However, come to think of it, in a country the size of Russia, with its immense land mass and countless miles of open wilderness, off-roaders such as the Shaman and the rest, make perfect sense.

The Shaman 8×8 which we showed you earlier, is just one of the beasts roaming Russia.

During the winter months, many parts of Russia such as Siberia and the Kamchatka peninsula, are often buried in several feet of snow and ice. The temperatures get low enough to freeze your thoughts, let alone water and other liquids. For those who venture into these uninhabited zones of Russia Land, they need something much bigger and manic than a regular Land Cruiser or Range Rover.

VIKING-2992

The Aton-Impulse VIKING 2992 can travel on water, too. Try doing that, Range Rover.

One of the more unique and relevant off-roaders among these, is the Aton-Impulse VIKING 2992. Because the Aton weighs just under 1.5-tonnes, this is one 4×4 that has gone light without losing any of its might. The Aton-Impulse is a 4×4 amphibious vehicle that rides on massive 51-inch tyres (over 4 feet tall) which have very low air pressure. The equivalent of snow shoes, these tyres help this vehicle go over any terrain surface without throwing a tantrum.

Combine the lightweight body (for a 4×4) and those big tyres and the result is that this vehicle can almost float on water. You can go across streams, rivers, lakes and of course, mountains and other off-road environments. However, the VIKING can only do a glacial 15 km/h on the water, but thanks to its jet-propulsion system, you will at least be moving. Anyway, enjoy the video and witness some of the most amazing off-roaders on the planet in action. Leave us your thought and opinions in the comments section, below.
