Toyota has finally launched the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the mid-size SUV segment is set to become hotter with it. The SUV is offered in two powertrain lines, namely, Neo drive and Hybrid. Furthermore, it gets four variants which are called E, S, G, and V. Let’s take a look at what you get in each variant

E
The base E variant is only available with the Neodrive powertrain. As standard, the exterior gets Bi-Halogen headlamp with LED position lamp, twin LED DRLs, LED taillamps, a shark fin antenna and 17-inch steel wheels with cover. Additionally, the interior comes with all black theme, 2 speakers, a 4.2-inch MID, front sliding armrest with storage, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel with steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, rear A/C vents, driver seat height adjust, 60:40 split and reclining rear seats, rear centre armrest, keyless entry with push button start/stop, power windows, and electrically adjustabe and foldable outside mirrors. In terms of safety, it comes with rear disc brakes, dual airbags, adjustable front seatbelts, 3 point seat belt for all passengers, ISOFIX, ABS, EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill Hold Control.

S
The S variant adds chrome plating to the Bi-Halogen headlamps and a crystal acrlyic upper grille(Hybrid only). In terms of interior and features, it adds a dual tone black and brown theme(Hybrid only), 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Toyota i-Connect (Neo drive only), 4 speakers, a 7-inch MID(Hybrid only), luggage, glovebox and footwell lamps (Neo drive only), front and rear USB ports, cruise control, paddle shifters (AT only), Drive mode switch(Hybrid only), and a reverse parking camera.

G
The G variant comes with LED Projector headlamps auto headlamps with follow me home function, variable intermittent front wiper, rear wiper and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is equipped with ambient lighting, a 9-inch infotainment system with Arkymys sound tuning and 2 tweeters, soft touch panel on the dashboard, auto dimming IRVM, panoramic sunroof (Hybrid only), Heads-up display (Hybrid only), Wireless charger (Hybrid only) and auto folding outside mirror. Lastly, it gets 6 airbags in terms of safety.

V
The top-end V variant gets all the bells and whistles like TPMS (Hybrid only), Hill Descent Control( AWD only), premium sound system (Hybrid only), a panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, and ventilated seats( Hybrid only).

Colors and Warranty
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered in 7 Monotone & 4 Dual-tone exterior colors. The Monotone colors are Cave Black, Sporting Red, Speedy Blue, Enticing Silver, Cafe White, Gaming Grey, and Midnight Black. The Dual-tone color option with a Black roof is available with Cafe White, Sporting Red, Enticing Silver, and Speedy Blue. Toyota is offering a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty, which can be extended to 5 year/2,20,000km. The carmaker is also offering an 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty on the hybrid batteries.
Powertrain
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes with two petrol engine options. The first engine is a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid unit that produces 101 Hp and 136 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Though it comes as a front-wheel-drive as standard across all variants, the mild hybrid manual variant can be exclusively paired to an All Wheel Drive powertrain with selectable terrain modes. The other engine is a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle engine that makes 92 Hp and 122 Nm of torque.
This engine is paired with an electric motor that produces 79 Hp and 141 Nm of torque. The total output produced is 115 Hp. It comes mated to an e-drive transmission. Additionally, the system comes with a 177.6 V lithium-ion battery. This enables the Hyryder to run on an electric-only range of up to 25km. Toyota claims that this enables it to have the best in class fuel efficiency.
