1. The Retro Design represents the Heritage of Yamaha
The design of the Yamaha XSR 155 is a mixture of modern and classic themes. With this design, the Yamaha XSR 155 retains the retro charm and classic character. Moreover, this bike follows the trend of a modern and classic design mixture.
Yamaha XSR 155 gets a round headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a single rubber seat. Meanwhile, the majority portion of the underbody is covered with the black theme. But it gets the alloys, upright exhaust, and a floating-style tail. With all these elements, the design of the motorcycle looks splendid and catches the eye of riding enthusiasts.
2. Platform and Suspension
The Yamaha XSR 155 is based on the YZF R15 V3.0 and MT-15. The parts sharing is not only limited to the engine and gearbox. But the XSR 155 has utilized the same Delta box frame platform. But the styling of this motorcycle is different from the other models.
Also, the XSR 155 is equipped with the USD forks suspension at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. Meanwhile, the design of the alloys is similar to the MT15 somehow and uses the same disc brake unit on both sides. However, the XSR 155 features dual-purpose tyres which can be used in off-road conditions as well.
3. Loaded with Features
Yamaha has loaded the XSR 155 with plenty of modern features along with a retro design. It gets a round LED headlight, LED taillight, digital instrument cluster, upright handlebar, and stylish body graphics.
The digital instrument cluster is round in its shape. This cluster shows various information like speed, like gear, fuel consumption, time, riding range, trip computer, etc. Also, this bike features the modern clutch assist with the slipper clutch and single channel ABS system.
4. Engine and Transmission
The Yamaha XSR 155 uses the 155-cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine. But the bikemaker offers the new Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology for a better riding experience. This engine produces 19hp of power and 15Nm of torque output. The Yamaha XSR 155 is available with six-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate slipper clutch.
Will it Come to India?
Yamaha XSR 155 is one of the highly anticipated bikes among riding enthusiasts. The pricing of the XSR 155 is lesser than MT-15 and R15 V3 by a great margin. If Yamaha gears up to launch the XSR 155 in India, then we can expect that this motorcycle will be much cheaper than its other siblings.
Like the MT-15 and R15 V3, the XSR 155 also uses the modern delta box frame. This motorcycle has the USD forks and monoshock suspension at the front and rear respectively. We expect that Yamaha could launch the XSR 155 in the coming years.
However, the chances of its launch are much lesser since the MT-15 and R15 V3 are quite popular in the market. If it launched, the price range of this motorcycle would start from Rs. 2 Lakhs Ex-showroom. After the launch, the XSR 155 will compete with Harley Davidson X440 and Triumph Scrambler 400X.
