Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India showcased the CX-01 Concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. The crossover motorcycle, which is meant to be an equally capable machine both on and off the road, is the fruition of the hard work of Honda’s design guys in India. Bike makers are increasingly looking at new, innovative concepts – motorcycles that break convention by being capable of playing more than just one role. The CX-01 is a specimen of that breed.
The Honda CX-01 is a youth oriented motorcycle which looks snazzy, and boasts ambidexterity. No specifications about the bike have been revealed yet, but we can assure you that the CX-01 looks like a million bucks. The motorcycle is targeted to have capabilities of handling the chaotic Mumbai traffic, the odd weekend highway run, as well as the rare trip to an off road destination – all with equal elan.
The bike is built immaculately with a mix of top quality materials and features a great finish. The Honda CX-01 also features premium upside down forks, and twin exhaust muffles – integrated in one unit. The engine seems to be a single cylinder unit to us at the moment, but nothing can be said about it definitively, as no details have been revealed. The CX-01 also features a rear monoshock unit and an advanced instrument console featuring LED tech.
One of Honda CX-01’s design highlights is its stunning head-lamp. Featuring sharply positioned LEDs as DRLs and a projector headlamp, the face of the Honda CX-01 look aggressive and full of attitude. The bike, if and when hits production, will be fully produced in India – keeping the costs low.
