We were present at the event in New Delhi when Mercedes-Benz India launched its all new SLK55 AMG. Our lens man in New Delhi, Nitin Gupta, has sent us a whole bunch of images of the car as well of the event.
Priced at Rs 1.26 crore ex-showroom, the SLK55 AMG is the only V8 powered car in its segment, has a peak power output of 421bhp@6800rpm with 540 Nm of torque@4500 rpm and is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission. The 0-100 km sprint time of the roadster is 4.6 seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/hr.
In terms of safety, the SLK55 AMG has achieved 5 stars in the Euro NCAP Crash Rating. Assistance systems for the driver include ATTENTION ASSIST, PARKTRONIC, PRE SAFE and ADAPTIVE BRAKE with ABS and ASR.
The SLK 55 AMG roadster features top of the line COMMAND ONLINE six DVD changer and Harmon Kardon surround sound music. AMG 18 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels painted in matte black are standard with attractive silver brake calipers.
The SLK 55 AMG also features panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control which transforms the SLK 55 AMG roadster into a coupé at the touch of a button. This glass roof switches to light or dark as required at the press of a button. It can be transparent or opaque as per your requirement.
