While major shifts are rare in the popular 125cc commuter space, Hero MotoCorp is introducing a segment-first feature to shake things up. The manufacturer has updated the Hero Glamour XTEC 125 with an advanced Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), making it the very first motorcycle in its class to offer a single-channel ABS setup seamlessly paired with an Integrated Braking System (IBS).
This safety-focused variant is priced at Rs 1.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), positioning it at the top of the lineup, directly above the existing Drum and Disc brake versions.
What Has Changed?
The headline update centres entirely on the braking infrastructure. The new Glamour X 125 gets single-channel ABS along with IBS. ABS helps prevent the front wheel from locking during hard braking, while IBS connects the braking action between the front and rear wheels.
Hero has also carried forward the Panic Brake Alert and hazard lamps. During heavy braking, the LED indicators flash quickly to warn vehicles behind the motorcycle.
The three versions are priced as follows:
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| Glamour X 125 Drum | Rs 88,517 |
| Glamour X 125 Disc | Rs 96,836 |
| Glamour X 125 ABS | Rs 1.01 lakh |
The new ABS version costs only a little more than the Disc model.
Features on the Glamour X
The Glamour X 125 already has a long list of equipment for a commuter motorcycle. It gets a 10.7cm adaptive multi-colour instrument console with more than 60 functions. Some of the key features include:
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Turn-by-turn navigation
- ETA display
- Call and SMS alerts
- Real-time mileage display
- Distance-to-empty information
- Gear shift advisory
- Type-C USB charging
- Full LED lighting
- Dual under-seat mobile storage
- Cruise control
Cruise control is another unusual feature in this segment. Hero introduced it with the Glamour X, giving riders an option for more relaxed highway riding.
Three Riding Modes
The motorcycle gets three riding modes called Eco, Road and Power. These modes allow the rider to select different settings based on the type of riding.
Power comes from a 124.7cc single-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and 10.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Integrated with Hero’s signature Sprint-EBT technology, this powertrain remains completely unchanged mechanically on the new ABS-equipped variant.
Design and Colours
Hero MotoCorp has retained the muscular aesthetic of the Glamour XTEC 125. The motorcycle features full LED lighting highlighted by Hero’s signature H-shaped layout and sharp, sporty graphics.
The new Integrated ABS variant is offered in four distinct colorways:
- Gun Metal Grey: New premium finish
- Matt Axis Grey: New premium finish
- Black Pearl Red: Existing paint scheme
- Black Teal Blue: Existing paint scheme
Ergonomically, the motorcycle offers a wide handlebar, a spacious long seat, and a highly accessible low seat height. These refined dimensions ensure maximum comfort for daily urban commuting.
A New Safety Option
With the new ABS version, buyers in the 125cc class now have another motorcycle to consider. The Glamour X 125 combines the safety system with its existing technology package, including cruise control and three riding modes.
