The Jawa 42 has been a familiar name in the modern-classic motorcycle space for years. Now, Jawa has given it a much bigger update. The new Jawa 42 All Stars has been launched in India, completing the brand’s All Stars range that already includes the recently launched 42 FJ and 42 Bobber.
The new motorcycle gets more than 60 changes across its design, chassis, comfort and riding setup. Prices start at Rs 1,79,942 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and go up to Rs 1,89,942 depending on the colour.
Bookings are already open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 14.
New look for the Jawa 42
The biggest changes can be seen around the rear section of the motorcycle. Jawa has given the 42 a wider rear fender and a larger rear tyre, which gives it a broader stance.
The motorcycle also gets new alloy wheels and a different exhaust setup.

The round headlamp continues to be part of the design. The fuel tank also keeps its familiar shape, helping the motorcycle retain the classic Jawa appearance.

Jawa has added five special All Stars colours to the range. These are:

The Battle Green and Nebula Blue shades give the motorcycle a more noticeable appearance, while the Black and Ivory option keeps things simpler.
Engine continues with 294.7cc motor
Jawa has not made a major change to the engine. The motorcycle uses the same 294.72cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 27.19hp at 7,950rpm and 26.3Nm at 6,000rpm. A six-speed gearbox sends power to the rear wheel.

The bike also gets an assist and slipper clutch.
Wider rear tyre and revised chassis
The rear tyre is now a 150/70-17 unit, while the front uses a 100/90-18 tyre. The wider rear tyre is one of the changes that gives the motorcycle its stronger road presence.
Jawa has also worked on the frame and swingarm stiffness. The company says these changes help with handling and control.
Suspension duties are handled by 35mm telescopic forks at the front and gas-filled twin shock absorbers with adjustable preload at the rear.
The motorcycle has a 1,369mm wheelbase, 173mm ground clearance and a 795mm seat height.
Braking and equipment
The Jawa 42 All Stars gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

The feature list remains fairly simple. LED lighting and a digital-analogue instrument console are part of the package as well.
More attention to comfort
Jawa has also changed the seat. It keeps the flat bench-style shape associated with the 42 but gets revised foam and cushioning.
The motorcycle weighs 175kg and uses a 13.2-litre fuel tank.
The company has also made changes to ergonomics, handling and the overall riding setup. These updates are meant to make the bike easier to manage during everyday riding as well as longer trips.
