A new name is entering a space where every detail matters. Genesis has revealed the GV90, its biggest SUV yet, with a size close to the Rolls Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga EWB. It is an electric SUV with a huge battery, a very quiet cabin and features that are usually seen in much more expensive luxury cars.
The GV90 is based on the Neolun concept shown in 2024. Genesis has kept many of the concept’s ideas for the production model, including the clean body design and the special four seat Neolun version.

Exterior Design
The GV90 carries Genesis’ familiar two line lighting design. Its upright front end, wide body and large wheels give it a strong road presence. The design takes inspiration from Korea’s moon jar pottery. The rear is clean and simple, with slim two line lamps and a smooth tailgate.
The Neolun version adds more visual drama through its coach doors and 24 inch forged wheels.
Two GV90 Versions
Genesis will sell the SUV in two versions. The regular GV90 gets conventional doors and can be configured with seven seats. The GV90 Neolun is the more expensive and special version.
It gets four seats and the Neolun Arch Gate doors. The rear doors open in the opposite direction and use a hidden B pillar structure.
- 5,285mm long body
- 3,245mm wheelbase
- Seven seat and four seat layouts
- 22 inch or 24 inch wheels
- Coach style rear doors on Neolun
The hidden B pillar does not mean Genesis has ignored safety. The company has used high strength steel beams and extra reinforcement around the cabin to maintain body strength.

A Big Electric SUV
The GV90 uses Genesis’ eMP platform made for its flagship models. Power comes from two electric motors and a 123.5kWh battery.
| Specification | Genesis GV90 |
|---|---|
| Power | 657hp |
| Torque | 590lb ft |
| Battery | 123.5kWh |
| Drive | Dual motor AWD |
| Range | Around 500km |
| Fast charging | 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes |
| DC charging | Up to 350kW |
| Rear wheel steering | Up to 5 degrees |
The large battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 22 minutes using a 350kW charger. Genesis says the seven seat version can cover around 310 miles, or close to 500km, on one charge based on internal testing.
The GV90 also gets dual electronic limited slip differentials. Multi chamber air suspension and adaptive dampers are used to keep the ride smooth. Rear wheel steering should also make a vehicle of this size easier to handle in tight spaces.
A Cabin Made For Relaxing
The cabin is one of the biggest parts of the GV90 story. Genesis has used leather, wood, stone and cashmere wool in different areas.
The Neolun version takes things further with its four seat layout. Its front seats can rotate 180 degrees when the SUV is parked, allowing passengers to sit facing each other. Some major cabin features include:
- 23.6 inch OLED centre display
- Display expands to 24.6 inches when parked
- 25 inch head up display
- 25 speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system
- Dolby Atmos
- Massage seats
- Ambient Glow lighting
- Smart Vision Roof
- Heated windshield
- Rear comfort partition
- VIP style second row features
The large screen also works with Genesis’ Pleos Connect software. The system supports apps and voice functions through an AI based assistant.

Safety Gets Special Attention
Genesis has fitted the GV90 with 12 airbags. One of the most unusual is the roof airbag, which is designed to cover the roof glass during a rollover. The SUV also gets an occupant monitoring system and several structures around the battery and body to improve protection during crashes.
Battery safety has also been addressed with thermal runaway protection and a battery management system that can identify possible problems.
Genesis GV90 India Plans
Genesis is expected to make its India debut in 2027. The brand is expected to start with models such as the GV70 before moving towards larger and more expensive products.
Genesis has also indicated that its vehicles for India will be locally assembled. That could help the company keep prices more competitive against established luxury brands.
The GV90 may not be the first Genesis model sold here, but it could become the brand’s flagship in India later. With its large battery, 657hp output, rear seat luxury and unusual door design, Genesis has given itself a strong product for the top end of the luxury SUV market.
