After much anticipation, wait and multiple testing spy shots of the camouflaged SUV, MG has finally teased its new seven seat electric SUV in India. Pre reservations are open for Rs 21,000. The reveal is scheduled for August 26, 2026.
The new SUV is important for MG because it is the first Indian model based on the ADAPT platform. MG says this architecture can work with several electrified powertrains. The EV will launch first, followed by a plug in hybrid.
ADAPT Platform And Powertrain Plans
The ADAPT platform can support battery electric, strong hybrid, range extender and plug in hybrid systems. It can also work with 400V and 800V electrical layouts.
MG has not shared the final India specific battery and motor figures yet. The related Wuling Eksion EV uses a 69.2kWh LFP battery with a front mounted motor. It makes about 201hp and 310Nm, with a claimed CLTC range of 530km.
The India model could get similar hardware, but its final specifications will be confirmed at the launch.
