When you think about Xiaomi, the first thing that probably comes to mind is its smartphones and smart gadgets. The company is now putting the same attention into cars as well. After the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, Xiaomi has taken the wraps off the new SkyNomad N90. It is a large three row SUV built for families, long trips and even camping. Unlike Xiaomi’s earlier electric cars, this one gets a range extender hybrid setup that promises a claimed driving range of up to 1,500 km on the CLTC cycle.
The SkyNomad N90 also arrives with a competitive price tag in China. It starts at around 200,000 yuan which is roughly Rs 24 lakh, making it cheaper than some of its direct rivals.

Some exterior highlights include:
- Full width front lighting setup
- T shaped LED daytime running lamps
- Roof mounted LiDAR sensor
- 21 inch alloy wheels
- Flush door handles
- Large glass area
- Full width rear LED light bar
- Roof spoiler and chunky rear bumper
The SUV weighs around 2.8 tonnes and has a wheelbase of 3,080 mm, which should translate into plenty of cabin space.

Flexible Cabin With Multiple Seating Options
Xiaomi has designed the N90 to be more than just a family SUV. Buyers can choose between five seat and seven seat layouts.
The front seats can rotate to face the second row when the vehicle is parked. The seven seat version gets powered captain seats in the second row with ottomans, while the third row can seat three passengers.
Other cabin features include:
- Large floating touchscreen
- Rear entertainment display
- Dual pane panoramic sunroof
- Built in refrigerator
- Coffee table in the five seat version
- Overhead speakers
- Flat floor design for easier movement inside the cabin
There is also a Camping Edition that adds a pop up roof, rooftop bed and extra storage for outdoor trips.

Hybrid System And Driving Range
The SkyNomad N90 is Xiaomi’s first range extender electric vehicle. The 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine does not drive the wheels. It only generates electricity for the battery, while the electric motors handle all driving duties.
The SUV produces 421 hp from its dual motor setup. Xiaomi claims an electric only range of up to 370 km. With the petrol engine helping recharge the battery, the combined claimed range goes up to 1,500 km. The top speed is rated at 190 kmph.
