VinFast EV Scooters Coming to India Soon

The two wheeler electric space in India is about to see a fresh move as VinFast prepares to step in with new scooters, expected to arrive in the second half of this year. The brand has already made its entry with cars like VinFast VF6 and VinFast VF7, and now it is getting ready to expand further with two wheelers and even commercial vehicles in the future.

Three electric scooters are planned for the first phase.

  • Evo
  • Feliz 2
  • Viper

These models will first come to India as CKD units and will be assembled locally. Production will take place at the Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu. VinFast has also signed an MoU with the state government and secured around 200 hectares of land at the SIPCOT industrial park for future expansion. The same plant is also planned for full scale manufacturing later with more local parts.

The company is also working towards a larger plan with strong production capacity and long term presence in India. These scooters are expected to launch in 2026 and will also be adjusted to suit Indian road conditions and usage.

All three scooters use LFP battery packs and hub mounted motors. They are designed mainly for city use and daily rides.

These scooters will go up against popular names like TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy and Ola Electric.

Another important point is that VinFast is also preparing India specific scooters in the background. These could arrive later after the first batch is introduced. The brand is also expanding into electric buses and taxi segments which shows a wider plan beyond just personal vehicles.

For reference, global prices currently stand close to around Rs 81,000 for Evo, Rs 96,000 for Feliz and about Rs 1.63 lakh for Viper. This move brings a new set of options in the EV scooter space with different styles, battery sizes and features for daily use.
