Ultraviolette has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the launch of two new products – the Tesseract electric scooter and the Shockwave electric motorcycle. Announced at the “FAST FORWARD India ’25” event in Bengaluru, these models aim to make advanced EV technology more accessible. Pre-bookings for both vehicles are open at ₹999, with deliveries expected to begin by early 2026.

Tesseract – Advanced Electric Scooter

The Tesseract stands out with its futuristic design and segment-first features. It boasts an integrated radar and dashcam system, coupled with Omnisense mirrors for enhanced rider safety. This system offers blind-spot detection, lane-change assist, and real-time collision alerts.

Performance-wise, the Tesseract delivers a peak power output of 20 bhp (15 kW) and has an IDC range of 261 km. It supports fast charging, reaching 80% in under an hour. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels and offers 34 liters of under-seat storage.

Buyers can choose from three battery options:

  • 6 kWh battery: 261 km range, 20 bhp (₹1.2 lakh for first 10,000 units)
  • 5 kWh battery: 220 km range, 15 kW power
  • 3.5 kWh battery: 162 km range, 10 kW power

The price will increase to ₹1.3 lakh for the next 50,000 customers and reach ₹1.45 lakh later. Tesseract is available in four colors – Sunburst Sand, Stealth Black, Sonic Pink, and Solar White.

Shockwave – Lightweight Electric Motorcycle

The Shockwave electric motorcycle is priced at ₹1.49 lakh for the first 1,000 customers. It offers a 3.5 kWh battery with a range of 165 km. It produces 14.5 bhp (10.8 kW) and accelerates from 0-60 kmph in 2.9 seconds.

Designed for city and light off-road use, it features a 19-inch spoked front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Riders can choose between Cosmic Black and Frost White color options.

Competition and Market Reach

The Tesseract competes with electric scooters like the Ola S1 Pro (₹1.47 lakh) and the Ather 450X (₹1.39 lakh). Both rivals offer similar performance but lack the Tesseract’s advanced safety features.

The Shockwave takes on the Revolt RV400 (₹1.62 lakh) and the Oben Rorr (₹1.49 lakh). While competitors focus on efficiency, the Shockwave aims to revive the thrill of lightweight, high-torque motorcycles.

Ultraviolette also plans to expand to 50 Indian cities and global markets like the UK, Germany, and France by FY 2026.

Final thoughts

The Tesseract and the Shockwave really look good on paper and their price is even more tempting. While the deliveries will begin only next year, we can expect Ultraviolette to make good on their claims unlike some other brands. We should get our hands on the Tesseract before December this year which will be a production ready model. Ultraviolette has impressed us with the F77s and we expect no less from these two products as well.
