Simple Energy Unveils Simple ONE with 248 km Range

  • Simple ONE Gen 1.5 now offers a certified 248 km IDC range, the longest for an Indian e-scooter.
  • Software upgrades include navigation, regenerative braking, TPMS, park assist, and more.
  • Price remains unchanged at ₹1,66,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

Simple Energy has introduced the Gen 1.5 version of the Simple ONE, enhancing its range, technology, and safety features. The updated model now delivers 248 km on a single charge (IDC-certified), up from 212 km in the previous generation. This makes it India’s longest-range electric scooter, addressing one of the biggest concerns for EV buyers—range anxiety.

Despite these improvements, the pricing remains unchanged at ₹1,66,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), including a 750W charger. The new model is available at all Simple Energy showrooms, while existing customers will receive these updates through OTA (over-the-air) software updates.

Enhanced Software and Smart Features

The Simple ONE Gen 1.5 brings a host of software-driven enhancements to improve usability and rider convenience. Key updates include:

  • App Integration with real-time data, remote access, and ride analytics.
  • Turn-by-turn navigation for seamless city commutes.
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Regenerative braking for improved energy efficiency.
  • Park Assist with forward and reverse movement for easier maneuverability.
  • USB charging port, customizable dash themes, and auto brightness for a better user experience.

The Simple ONE retains its rapid acceleration, going from 0-40 km/h in just 2.77 seconds. It also continues to offer 30+ litres of under-seat storage, which remains one of the largest in the segment.

Competing in the Electric Scooter Market

With its extended range and feature-loaded offering, the Simple ONE Gen 1.5 takes on strong rivals like the Ola S1 Pro (195 km IDC), Ather 450X (150 km IDC), TVS iQube ST (145 km IDC), and Bajaj Chetak Premium (127 km IDC). Simple Energy’s focus on software upgrades and long-range capability gives it a unique edge in the growing premium EV scooter space.

Alongside the product update, Simple Energy has aggressive expansion plans. The brand aims to open 150 new stores and 200 service centers across 23 states by FY 2026, strengthening its presence beyond key markets like Bangalore, Goa, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kochi.

Final Thoughts

The Simple ONE Gen 1.5 reinforces the company’s focus on long-range performance and smart features while keeping the price steady. The improved software ecosystem adds more functionality, making it one of the most feature-rich electric scooters in India. As competition in the EV space heats up, Simple Energy’s expansion strategy and continuous improvements will play a crucial role in its long-term success.
