Mahindra has officially priced its highly anticipated five-door Thar, the Thar Roxx. Starting at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant and Rs 13.99 lakh for the diesel, the new model commands a premium over its three-door counterpart. Bookings for the Thar Roxx open on October 2, with test drives commencing on September 14. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on Dussehra, October 12.

Available in both petrol and diesel engine options, with the choice of rear-wheel drive (RWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD), the Thar Roxx is offered in six distinct variants: MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and the top-spec AX7L. Customers can personalize their SUV with a choice of seven exterior colors, all complemented by a standard black roof.
Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1: The entry-level MX1 comes equipped with LED lighting, 18-inch steel wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and essential safety features like six airbags and electronic stability control (ESC). Under the hood, buyers can choose between a 162hp petrol or a 152hp diesel engine, both mated to a manual gearbox. The MX1 also boasts impressive off-road capabilities with a water-wading depth of 650mm and respectable approach and departure angles.
Mahindra Thar Roxx MX3: Building on the MX1, the MX3 introduces drive modes, terrain modes, a rear camera, hill assist, and traction control. Petrol automatic variants also benefit from rear disc brakes. Additional features include cruise control, a rear seat armrest, and wireless smartphone connectivity.

Mahindra Thar Roxx AX3L: The AX3L enhances comfort and convenience with ADAS features, a digital driver display, and automatic climate control.
Mahindra Thar Roxx MX5: Upgrading to the MX5 brings C-shaped LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and advanced driver aids like a tyre pressure monitor and auto headlights. Four-wheel drive is optional on this variant, and those opting for it also get an electronic locking differential.
Mahindra Thar Roxx AX5L and AX7L: The AX5L adds an electronic parking brake to the MX5’s features, while the flagship AX7L boasts a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch alloys, powered front seats, a cooled glove box, a 360-degree camera, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system. Top-spec 4×4 AX7L variants also feature Smart Crawl and IntelliTurn technologies for enhanced off-road prowess.

Across the range, the Thar Roxx offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a comprehensive suite of safety features including multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera.
