Mahindra has surprised us today by launching the XUV 400 Pro range at a segment-killer price of ₹15.49 lakh. The range consists of three new variants – EC Pro (34.5kWh battery, 3.3 kW AC Charger), ELPro (34.5kWh battery, 7.2 kW AC charger), and ELPro(39.4 kWh battery, 7.2 kW AC charger.

XUV 400 Pro Range – What’s New?
While there are limited to no changes on the exterior, the XUV 400 Pro range gets a major overhaul in the cabin. As you walk into the car, the 10.25-inch infotainment screen takes center stage. The new display unit has smartphone-level clarity and smoothness. It is equipped with a range of connected features in the form of an Adrenox-connected car system. Behind the new Mahindra steering wheel lies the new 10.25-inch instrument console which is highly customizable.


The XUV 400 Pro range is now also equipped with dual-zone climate control and rear AC vents. A wireless charger at the front and USB charging ports at the rear have also been added. It now supports wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto which will be updated over the air in a few months. Besides all these additions, Alexa voice commands have also been introduced to control several aspects of the car. A new Nebula Blue colour will also offered in the Pro range.


The Killer Price
Whenever there is a model update or a higher and better variant is launched, we expect a higher price tag. However, Mahindra has got us all surprised with very competitive pricing. This pricing is introductory and Mahindra has not commented on when the price will be revised.

To put things in perspective, the top variant of the Tata Nexon Long-Range which directly competes with the XUV 400 EL Pro is priced at ₹19.94 lakh which is almost ₹2.5 lakh more than the XUV 400 EL Pro with a 39.4 kWh battery.

XUV 400 Performance
The front wheel-mounted electric motor of the XUV 400 produces a segment-busting 150 PS power and 310 Nm of torque. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 secs and has a capped top speed of 150 kmph. The car is equipped with either a 34.5 kWh battery pack that boasts 375 km of range or a 39.4 kWh pack that boasts 456 km of range.
