India Bike Week (IBW) 2023 marked its glorious 10th year, revving up the celebration of motorcycling culture, adventure, and unity under the theme ‘Everyone as One.’
The event, powered by Gulf Syntrac, roared to success, featuring thrilling launches, races, engaging storytelling, and an unmatched sense of biker camaraderie.
A Decade of Motorcycle Bliss
For ten years, IBW has been the epicenter for motorcycle enthusiasts nationwide, drawing riders from every corner of India. This annual pilgrimage for those with motor oil in their veins is where roads, stories, and tips intertwine, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie so thick you could almost touch it.
Highlights of IBW 2023
The 10th edition witnessed the unveiling of Triumph Bonneville Stealth Editions, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro, Kawasaki W175 Street, and the Aprilla RS 457, setting the stage for a year of motorcycling excellence.
The vibrant Howling Dog Bar buzzed with compelling stories, accompanied by cultural music from Project Folk Roads. Parades, Mod Bike Rideups, the Gulf FMX Show, Harley Davidson Custom King Showcase, and exploration of six unique tracks added to the excitement.
Product Launches
Partner brands didn’t shy away from making waves. Aprilia RS 457, priced at INR 4.10 lakhs, stole the show. Kawasaki introduced the most affordable W175 Street at INR 1.35 lakhs, while Triumph’s ‘Stealth Edition’ lineup unveiled a stunning array of limited-edition motorcycles.
Racing Fever Takes Over
In true celebration of the ‘Bring Your Own Bike’ culture, IBW featured tracks designed for the fearless. From the CEAT Flat Track to the Enduro track and the thrilling Mud Rush, racing enthusiasts found their haven. Harley-Davidson, Hero, and Triumph provided an ‘Arrive and Race’ feature at the Flat Track, Hill Climb, and Mud Rush, intensifying the racing fever.
Ancillary activities like Wheelie Ring of Fire, Well of Death, manufacturer parades, Club Marathons, and Club Games added to the adrenaline rush. The much-awaited finale crowned Bulleteer Customs as the IBW Bike Build-Off champion and Kunwar Customs in the Mod Bike Competition.
Founder’s Gratitude
Martin da Costa, founder and CEO of 70EMG and Festival Director, expressed his excitement and gratitude to the biking community. Reflecting on the journey from the inaugural event in 2013, he acknowledged the riders from every corner contributing to the festival’s success.
Beyond Biking
IBW 2023 not only celebrated motorcycling but also embraced “Everyone As One.” Overlander’s sessions featured bikers like Noor and Arjun Raina sharing their inspiring stories, breaking stereotypes and showcasing the sheer joy of biking.
Women biking enthusiasts took center stage at ‘She rides. She works.’ Club Village hosted exciting games, and The Big Trip inspired globetrotting on two wheels.
Culinary Delights
Food took center stage at IBW 2023 with The Big Forkers Meat Fest. Grill masters showcased the art of curing, grilling, and barbecuing meats, offering a feast from Goan Chorizo to whole hog roasts.
Unforgettable Musical Journey
The event reached its crescendo with an electrifying music lineup featuring Nucleya, Gully Gang, Disco Kid, Gurbax, Nash, Vipin Mishra Project, and more. Attendees immersed themselves in an unforgettable sonic journey spanning hip hop, electronic beats, retro tunes, and soulful performances.
