Renowned British automobile legacy brand MG has recently announced a strategic partnership with Shoonya, a Zero Pollution Mobility campaign. Led by NITI Aayog, the campaign also has some prominent players in India’s electric mobility sector. The MG x Shoonya collaboration reflects a shared commitment to accelerating the adoption of EVs and advancing sustainability efforts.

MG Motor India is set to actively participate in the Shoonya campaign, sharing its significant developments in the electric vehicle domain as part of this partnership. This move underscores MG’s dedication to the EV sector and highlights its long-term vision to foster its growth through innovative solutions and collaborative relationships with industry and government stakeholders.

In line with MG’s mission to expand and nurture collaborations within the EV ecosystem, this partnership with Shoonya represents a pivotal step toward achieving sustainable and pollution-free mobility in the country. Shoonya, a campaign born through collective efforts with industry partners, aims to achieve 100% electrification in the urban commercial passenger and freight sectors in the near future.

MG x Shoonya: A Group Effort

The campaign’s approach brings together a diverse consortium. This comprises of stakeholders, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), ride-hailing companies, charging infrastructure providers, e-commerce platforms, financiers, and fleet aggregators. With the support of around 200 corporate partners, this consumer-awareness campaign seeks to drive a radical shift toward sustainable mobility.

MG Motor India‘s commitment to the EV sector is notable. The company has taken a significant step towards establishing a robust EV ecosystem in India through its MG Charge initiative. As part of this initiative, MG has deployed a network of over 15,000 charging points, including home chargers, across India to facilitate EV charging. This project aims to create a shared charging network, thus making EV charging convenient for owners. The charging network should be on roads, highways, cities, apartments, condominiums, residential welfare associations (RWAs), and societies.

MG’s EV Commitment

MG’s EV endeavors are supported by various partners, including Tata Power, Glida, and BPCL. The company’s MG Charge program is a collaborative effort with Electreefi, Exicom, Echargebays, Ionage, Prestige, and numerous others. All are working together to turn the vision of an efficient and accessible EV ecosystem into reality. This comprehensive approach not only promotes the adoption of electric vehicles but also addresses the critical need for robust charging infrastructure to support their widespread use.
