Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced FRONX S-CNG in their premium retail channel NEXA. Maruti FRONX S-CNG is built to offer an eco-friendly driving experience while being loaded with features such as Dual Front Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors, and SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, among others.
Maruti Fronx S-CNG
The new-age SUV is powered by the tried and tested 1.2L K-Series DualJet, Dual VVT engine which develops a peak power output of 77.5PS@6000rpm and max torque of 98.5Nm in CNG mode. However in petrol mode it develops 89.73PS@6000rpm and 113Nm. The latest addition to Maruti Suzuki’s vast S-CNG portfolio, the Sporty SUV delivers a segment-best fuel-efficiency of 28.51 km/kg. CNG will not get the 1.0L Boosterjet which comes in as an option for the Petrol variant.
The dimensions and other mechanicals are still the same with Length of 3995 mm, Height of 1550 mm and a Width of 1765 mm. Maruti for it’s gearbox will be offered only in 5-speed manual for now. However there is no official figures for the bootspace.
About the Maruti Fronx
Maruti Fronx was released just a few months back and it has recieved its first update in-terms of a CNG option. This could have been a quick response to Hyundai’s Exter, as the Exter comes with a CNG option which made it the only car to be offered with CNG in its segment.
Fronx is based on Baleno’s platform and it shares the same features. However it has been gone through a SUV treatment laboratory. Further enhancing the styling with the raised ground clearance, extensive use of cladding and a raised split headlight design. All of these changes adds up and makes it appealing to the customers who are looking for that SUV like experience in a hatchback.
Moreover the Fronx came an option of a 1.0L 3-cyl Boosterjet engine which was last seen in the now discontinued Baleno RS. It was responsive and offered good power figures with great fuel economy.
Pricing and Conclusion
Now the CNG buyers have not only one, but two new models to choose from. With the upcoming Tata Punch CNG joining the party very soon.
