Hyundai Exter to get first in segment customizable Instrument Cluster

Hyundai is one of the leading carmakers in the Indian market. Now, the carmaker has slated the launch of the Exter SUV on the 10th of July 2023. Ahead of its launch, Hyundai has revealed a slew of details about the features of its upcoming SUV, the Exter.

First in segment features in Hyundai Exter

Hyundai is all set to launch its new SUV, known as the Exter, by next month. The Hyundai cars are known for their feature-loaded proposition, and Exter will be no different. For starters, the Exter will get a new advanced instrument cluster with digital dials. Furthermore, the cluster will have a total of 10 different regional languages. However, the instrument cluster of the Exter will have English as its default language along with 2 other global languages.

The other first in the segment features list includes sounds of nature, voice command, dual dashcam, and a sunroof. The sounds of nature and voice command assistant will be integrated into the infotainment system of the Exter. Other features include a Multi-functional steering wheel, auto AC, rear AC vents, height-adjustable driver seats, headrests on all seats, etc.

Powertrain Options 

The new Hyundai Exter will be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa-series naturally aspirated VTVT petrol engine. This engine is BS6 phase-2 compliant and churns out 82hp of power and 114nm of torque output.

However, in CNG mode, this engine produces 68hp of power and 95nm of torque output. This engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a convenient AMT transmission. The carmaker will offer the CNG version of the Exter as well.

Variants, Pricing, Rivals and Opinion

Hyundai will introduce the Exter in seven different variants, namely the EX, EX(o), S, S(o), SX, SX (o), and the range-topping SX (o) Connect. The ex-showroom price range for the Exter is expected to be between Rs. 6 lakhs to 11 lakhs. Following its launch, the Hyundai Exter will face competition from Maruti Fronx, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
