Honda Activa has achieved a humongous 3 Crore sales milestone. The best-selling 2-wheeler was first launched in 2001 and it got 6 new generations. As the generation passes, the scooter has a new transformation in design, practicality, and fuel efficiency.
The journey of more than 2 decades has witnessed the achievement of numerous milestones. In just 3 years of its 2001 launch, Activa became the top-selling scooter in the country. Moreover, maintaining tremendous consistency, it achieved the 10 Lakh sales milestone within the next 2 years. And now it has achieved a huge milestone of 3 crore customers in just 22 years of duration.
Journey of Honda Activa
The journey of the 2-wheeler was started in 2001. This scooter is designed to cater to the diverse needs of the customer. In these 20 years, this scooter has achieved various milestones. The first milestone achieved by Activa was becoming an undisputed leader in its segment in 2003-04. Moreover, the sales of the scooter crossed 10 Lakh units after 3 years of its launch.
In 2008-09, Honda launched the new generation Activa with a bigger 110cc petrol engine, having 15% improved mileage and first-in-class CBS braking with an equalizer system. Later on, the scooter sales crossed 50,000 units per month. In 2012-13, Honda Activa achieved another milestone of reaching 5 million sales and monthly sales of 1 Lakh units. In 2013-14, Honda brought the first-in-class Honda Eco Technology (HET) in India along with the 3rd generation and 125cc powerful version.
In 2015-16, Activa achieved its first humongous milestone of 1 crore sales within 15 years. However, in 7 years, the scooter has managed to accomplish the feat of selling 2 crore scooters. In 2020-21, Honda Activa achieved another big milestone of 2.5 crore customer mark. And now in 2023, the scooter has crossed the 3 million sales mark.
About Honda Activa
Honda Activa is a mass-market commuting 2-wheeled scooter from the house of a Japanese 2-wheeler manufacturer. This scooter boasts a spectacular and bold design, which grabs the attention of the people. The scooter gets LED lights, positioning lamps, chrome treatment on various panels, alloy wheels, etc. In terms of features, Activa gets Keyless Entry and Ignition, a digital cluster with analog dials and fuel efficiency details, a 2-fuel lid opening system, a glove box, etc.
The Honda Activa is powered by 2 engine options complying with BS6 phase-2 emission norms as of now. The base engine is a 110cc unit producing 7.68hp and 8.84nm output. However, the other engine is a powerful 125cc unit, making 8.19hp and 10.4 Nm of output. The new Activa gets enhanced smart power tech, less NVH, and a new PGM-Fi fuel rail for more efficiency.
