The prominent European Car manufacturer, Skoda has launched the updated BS6 phase-2 version of the Kodiaq SUV. The Kodiaq is a CBU import SUV in limited numbers with the price range starting from Rs. 37.99 Lakhs Ex-showroom. The updated version of Kodiaq is limited to 750 units per quarter and gets more features and improved fuel efficiency.
New Features in Skoda Kodiaq 2023
The Czech car maker has added new features to the Kodiaq SUV. Firstly, the SUV gets edge protectors on doors that deploy while opening. While the other two features comprise the rear spoiler finlets and lounge step on 2nd row of seats. The spoiler finlets are added in this SUV for enhanced aerodynamics and the lounge step ensures enhanced comfort for passengers.
Updated Powertrain
Skoda has updated the 2.0L 4-cylinder TSi Evo engine to comply with the latest BS6 phase-2 emission norms. This engine produces a staggering 190hp of power and 320nm of torque output. The power is channeled to all the wheels via a 7-Speed DSG gearbox and a 4×4 drivetrain system. Skoda offers 4×4 as standard across all the variants of the Kodiaq SUV along with an improved fuel efficiency of 4.2%.
Pricing and Competition
Skoda has launched the Kodiaq in 3 variants: Style, Sportline, and L&K. The prices of the base variant are hiked by Rs. 50,000. However, the prices of Sportline and L&K have significantly hiked by Rs. 90,000 and 1.40 Lakhs respectively. Skoda Kodiaq continues to compete with Jeep Meridian, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Citroen C5 Aircross.
