BMW 520d M-Sport launched at ₹68.90 Lakhs

One of the renowned car manufacturers, BMW has revamped the variant line-up of their executive sedan, the 5 series. BMW has introduced a new variant of the 5 series. However, some of them are discontinued ahead of the upcoming emission norms. Let’s dive deep to know about the details of the variant line-up of the BMW 5 series.

About the variant line-up

BMW has launched a new variant of the 5 series sedan. The new variant is christened the 520d M-Sport which offers certain sporty highlights in its aesthetic appeal. Priced at ₹68.90 Lakhs Ex-Showroom, the new BMW 520d promises to deliver a sporty impression as well as a brilliant driving pleasure to its buyers.

However, some of the variants of the 5 series sedan are discontinued. This list comprises of the Jahre Edition, 530d Msport, and 520d luxury line variants.

New Enhancements in 520d

Cosmetically, the new 520d gets an M-Sport variant. Upfront, the new m-sport variant of the 5 series gets sporty bumpers, Aggressive front fascia, and character lines. On the side, the beauty of the new 520d M-sport is accentuated by the striking 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents, moniker of M on fenders, and blue brake calipers. On the interior, the new 520d M-sport gets m-spec leather upholstery and badges of m on door sills. In addition to the cosmetic tweaks, BMW has added the laser light technology feature to the 520d. Some features are carried forward in the new variant like the heads-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, a 360-degree camera, and wireless phone charging.

About the powertrain

BMW 5 series is now available with 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines only. As the new norms are approaching, BMW has updated its lineup to comply with new emission norms and support E20 fuel.

The 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol produces 250ps and 350nm of output meanwhile the diesel belts out 190ps and 400nm of output. The power is channeled to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Automatic Transmission. Unfortunately, the 3.0L diesel is discontinued
