BMW’s JoyTown festival had its first edition held in Delhi recently. And if you’ve attended it, then you’d know that the German automaker has plans to launch five more products into the Indian market by January next year with growth expected in the coming years.
The car manufacturer had an aim of introducing 8 products in 8 weeks. Out of which, it has already followed through and launched three of them viz. the flagship SUV XM at Rs. 2.6 crore, the facelifted M340i at Rs. 69.2 lakh & its S 1000RR superbike at Rs. 24.45 lakh in the Delhi edition of its JoyTown Festival.
What is BMW JoyTown Festival?
JoyTown is essentially a car festival where BMW, MINI & BMW Motorrad come together to showcase their exciting products while also launching them.
Being India’s first-ever music and driving festival, the fest has a fun-fair-like vibe. The event is full of interesting product exhibits and interactive activities such as stunts performed by BMW drivers wherein one can have a drift experience from the co-driver seat. Moreover, there are food trucks along with good music.
It is a contemporary way of launching products into the market with a greater immersive experience than conventional car launches. This results in better brand reach as a large number of interested folks can visit the events from various places.
BMW Joytown is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on the 7th & 8th of January next year. While in Bengaluru, it will be held on the 28th & 29th Jan 2023. The brand will be launching all five of its upcoming offerings in its Mumbai and Bengaluru events.
Launches
We’ll see the Bavarian carmaker launching its most tech-laden flagship luxury sedan – the 7 series in its seventh generation form. The S-class rivaling sedan will also come in an all-electric avatar as well, i.e., the i7.
Next up, it will be the company’s best-selling offering – the new-gen X1. This entry-level SUV from BMW is now bigger than its rivals and will get launched at the Bengaluru JoyTown event.
The remaining two launches will be the facelifted X7 & the facelifted 3 Series Gran Limousine. The X7 will come with a revised front fascia and will proudly sport BMW’s latest curved infotainment system. This three-row SUV will also get other new features. While the 3 Series Gran Limo is in its 7th gen guise, it will get a new plug-in hybrid petrol motor along with other petrol and diesel options.

Vikram Pawah, President & CEO, BMW Group India said, “This is the 15th year of operations in India and this is going to be the best year ever in our history. As of November, we have seen 40% year-on-year growth in our car sales and 46% in motorcycle sales. With new product launches, we expect this growth to continue next year,” he said.
“Demand momentum for our EVs has been phenomenal. For our three EVs combined it is as close to 10% of total sales right now. i4 has a waiting till the end of next year.” Pawah added.
