BYD has announced the prices of their second offering for India – the Atto 3 at ₹33.99L ex-showroom.
The Atto 3 is the first product from BYD that will be available for the private sector. This is their second product for India overall. The previous one was the BYD E6 which is an electric MPV for the commercial sector. The Atto 3 has already accumulated 1500 bookings since its reveal. Deliveries of the first 500 units will take place in January 2023.

Design
Overall the Atto 3 is a sporty-SUV styled EV and has a bold futuristic design. The Atto 3 measures 4,445mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,615mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 2,720mm. It gets a large blank silver grille in the front which is flanked by slim LED headlights on each side. The LED DRLs mimic the shape of wings. The side features extensive black cladding on the wheel’s arches. The wheels are 18-inch units finished in dual tone. The rear gets full-length LED taillamps and ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering. The Atto 3 will be available in 4 colors – Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue.
Battery, Power & Tech
is the first model in India built on the e-Platform 3.0, with the Blade Battery, an 8-in-1 electric powertrain, and highly integrated domain controllers. The platform features the world’s first 8-in-1 electric powertrain with a drive motor, motor controller, reducer, onboard charger, DC converter, high-voltage distribution box, vehicle controller, and Battery Management System (BMS) integrated, resulting in a 20% overall size reduction and 15% weight reduction.
Powering the BYD Atto 3 is a large 60.48 kWh battery pack. The front-mounted electric motor produces 201 hp of max power and 310 Nm of max torque. As per claims, the Atto 3 can go from naught to 100 in just 7.3 sec and will be able to cover 521 km on a single charge. With the fast charger, the Atto 3 can be charged from 0 to 80% in 50 min. The car also comes with level-2 ADAS features, a panoramic sunroof, a rotating infotainment screen, 7 airbags, PM 2.5 air filter, etc.
Warranty & Other Info
It comes with a 3 kW charger as standard. BYD also provides a 7 kW charger that can be installed at the owner’s desired location at an extra cost. The cost of the vehicle also includes a 3-year 4G data subscription. To promote value and trust in the brand, BYD is offering a 6-year RSA and 6 free services to Atto 3 customers. As for the warranty, the battery gets an 8-year or 1.6 lakh kilometer warranty, the motor and motor controller get an 8-year or 1.5 lakh kilometer warranty, and the overall vehicle and its other components get a 6-year to 1.5 lakh kilometer warranty.
