Pune based EV Technology start up Weber Drivetrain launches its state-of-the-art automated manufacturing facility for BLDC Hub Motor and Controller in Chakan MIDC, Pune, Maharashtra.
For the first phase of the creation of a production facility for 100% Made in India BLDC HUB Motors, the Company is investing 35 crores. Prashant Shete and Sachin Jain co-founded Weber Drivetrain. Mr. Prashant Shete has a distinguished career spanning 24 years in the automotive business and 5 years in the electric vehicle sector.

Weber Drivetrain has committed a total investment of 35 crores in Phase 1 for the establishment of a manufacturing facility under the “MAKE IN INDIA” initiative for the future of E-Mobility through a combination of internal and collaborative R&D. In order to manufacture 100% Made in India BLDC HUB Motors and Controllers for Electric Vehicles in compliance with Indian market regulatory norms, the production facility will integrate significant automation, including the most recent semi-robotics and cutting-edge manufacturing equipment.

With a capacity ranging from 0.25 kW to 4 kW and the ability to serve a variety of markets, including those for e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-motorcycles, the manufacturing plant, under the initiative of Atmnirbhar Bharat, is fully prepared. The Prashant Shete-led Weber Drivetrain team has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the production of EV components, and it will help OEMs who make vehicles by facilitating end-to-end vehicle integration solutions. By December 2022, Weber Drivetrain hopes to introduce its line of products and solutions.
