Design
The design of the new Tucson is radical and it is something that we have not seen on other Hyundai cars. The front is dominated by a big dark chrome parametric grille that houses the Hyundai logo and a camera. The LED DRLs are seemlessly integrated into the grille and the LED headlights are placed lower down in the bumper. The side gets 18-inch dual tone alloy wheels and a chrome strip which runs along the window line to the C pillar. The side also features a ton of cuts and creases adding to the visual drama. The rear gets T-shaped LED taillights that are connected by a thin LED strip.

Interestingly, the Hyundai logo is placed on the glass rather than the boot. The lower half of the bumper gets a silver skid plate and a diamond finish. Other design elements include a shark fin antenna and a rear spoiler that neatly hides the rear washer and wiper. As mentioned before, the Indian spec Tucson is available in the long wheelbase format. The 2755mm wheelbase is the best in its class and should translate into good space at the back.

Interior
The interiors of the Tucson get a wraparound design and it comes in a dual-tone black and grey color scheme. It borrows some parts from other Hyundais such as the steering wheel and the gear knob which are found in the Alcazar and Creta. The 10.25-inch touchscreen is a familiar unit and it gets navigation, Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Hyundai Bluelink connected car technology and a whole lot more. The lower half of the piano black centre console features dual-zone automatic climate control with touch sensitive buttons. Speaking of the climate control, the Tucson features multi air mode for the air vents for gentle air flow.

The electrically adjustable leather seats are heated, cooled and also offered with memory function for the driver. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster comes with selectable themes and it acts as a display for the parking sensors and navigation. Other features include 64-color ambient lighting, electric parking brake, 8 speaker Bose sound system, hands free tailgate operation, rain sensing wipers and remote engine start with key. The rear seats come with a recline function and they can be folded via a boot lever. It also comes with a passenger walk-in device wherein the rear passenger can move the front passenger seat via a button for increasing the legroom.

Safety
The Hyundai Tucson is the first Hyundai in India to feature Level 2 ADAS capability. It offers as many as 19 ADAS features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with pedestrian detection, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind-Spot View Monitor, Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Surround View Monitor, Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (RPCA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) Advanced Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go and Safe Exit Warning (SEW).
