Volvo XC40 Recharge Gets Sold Out Within Just 2 Hours

Kickstarting its journey in India, Volvo XC40 Recharge is already sold out for 2022. The bookings for this Electric SUV began on the 27th of July at 11 Am and within just two hours, the first batch is sold out. Only 150 units were allocated for the 2022 batch of this EV which is now full and as announced, the deliveries will be commenced from the upcoming festive season in October 2022. The customers will still be able to book their XC40 Recharge for the next batch although there is no official information on the delivery time for the fresh batch. The price of the XC40 Recharge was set at ₹55.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The XC40 Recharge comes with two electric motors which produce the output of 402 hp and  660 Nm of peak torque. The 78kWh battery pack is placed under the front seats for extra space. The new Volvo XC40 Recharge can go from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds and with a top speed of 180 kmph.  It has a WLTP range of 418 km. It offers 0 to 80 percent charge in just 40 minutes by 150kW DC fast charger while 0 to 100 takes eight to ten hours by an 11kW AC fast charger. The company is offering a three years warranty on the car and an eight-year warranty on the batteries. 

The interior of Volvo XC40 recharge features a 9-inch Android-based infotainment system with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Volvo’s connected car tech, through the ‘Volvo On Call App’, to preheat or pre-cool the car remotely. While other tech features include a digital driver’s display unit, dual-zone automatic climate control, four USB-C ports, a Harman Kardon stereo system, and a panoramic sunroof. It has a blacked-out grille and new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels and 175 mm ground clearance. While boot space is 452 liters, with an additional 31-liter boot under the bonnet.

XC40 Recharge also comes with powered front seats with memory and Level 2 Autonomous Driving capability. While the safety features include four high-definition 360-degree cameras for parking view, a blind spot information system, lane aid, cross-traffic alert, and also a set of adaptive headlights.
