The smallest displacement BMW motorcycle till now, the G 310 R caught everyone’s attention instantaneously since its debut in the month of November last year. This new BMW is primarily targeted to developing markets and is aimed to capture a share of the massive entry-level performance motorcycle segment. The quarter litre motorcycle made its India debut at the 2016 Auto Expo held in February and a test mule of the G 310 R was recently spied during its pre-launch test-runs in the country.

For the folks who may be unaware, the G 310 R is the smallest displacement motorcycle from the two-wheeler arm of BMW. The motorcycle is powered by 313 cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that delivers a power output of 34 hp at 9500 rpm and peak torque of 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. Other features on the G 310 R will include a multifunctional instrument cluster and ABS as a standard feature. The bike will be manufactured in India by TVS, courtesy the TVS- BMW joint venture. The motorcycle is expected to arrive with a price tag upwards of Rs. 2.2 lakhs and will rival the highly successful KTM Duke 390.
