In order to cater to the needs of municipal corporations and other urban local bodies in the collection and transportation of the waste, Tata Motors unveiled three new fully-built vehicles, from its municipal range, at Municipalika 2015. Municipalika 2015 is a trade show focusing on Construction, Architecture, Planning and Engineering. The 13th edition of Municipalika is organised with CAPEx in Jaipur, Rajasthan between December 09 –11, 2015.
The vehicles showcased are Tata Ace Desilting Machine BS IV, the Tata Ace Zip 1.25 Hopper Tipper BS III and Tata LPT 1613/42 Truck BS III and BS IV with Suction/Jetting machine. The maker claims that the vehicles offer best-in-class maneuverability and fuel-efficiency.
Tata Ace Desilting Machine BS IV will be commissioned for cleaning manholes and wet wells upto a depth of 40 ft. The engine on this Tata ACE churns 16 hp at 3200 rpm and a max torque of 37 Nm at 2000 RPM. It also offers better maneuverability with the help of the minimum turning circle diameter of 8.6m.
The Tata Ace Zip 1.25 Hopper Tipper BS III is ideal for transportation of household garbage, especially for door-to-door garbage collection, through narrow lanes due to its small size. The engine on this Ace Zip makes 11.3 hp at 3000 rpm and a max torque of 31 Nm at 1800 rpm. It also boasts best-in-class turning radius with a minimum turning circle diameter of 3.5m.
The Tata LPT 1613/42 Truck BS III and BS IV is equipped with a Suction(5KL)-cum-Jetting(4KL) machine. The truck mounted mobile unit is suitable for dislodging and removing obstructions and blockages from sewer lines by a high pressure water jetting system and suctioning the sludge/slurry by the installed vacuum suction system and discharging the collected sludge by hydraulic tipping of the containers or by blow-back arrangement. Out of the three this Tata truck is powered by a powerful engine that generates a 136 Ps at 2400 rpm and a max torque of 490 Nm at 1800 rpm.
Tata Motors range of municipal vehicles offer fully-built solutions in the areas of solid & wet waste management, health services, water supply, street-lighting, disaster management, and staff transportation on heavy, medium, intermediate, light and small commercial vehicle platforms. So Tata Motors have done their part of the deal, now it’s time for the concerned departments to train the employees and use these machine for environmental good. With these power-packed machines the cities should get better!
