This is the new Tata Bolt hatchback. The new design showcases the manufacturer’s new design semantics which is a culmination of their best ideas from their three design studios based in Pune, Coventry and Turin.
What do you guys think? Does the Zest without a boot look great? Or does it look like an Indica trying too hard? Should the Swifts and Puntos be running for cover?
Here are some fitting pictures of the Tata Bolt from today’s Udaipur drive. Let’s find out:
The front fascia is carried over from the Zest, except for the missing chrome strip at the bottom of the grille, and a couple of new chrome embellishments around the bumper.
The head-lamps have been given the smoky treatment, so now the finer details and those projectors stand out
Stylistically, the Tata Bolt is essentially a re-skinned Indica Vista, but 95% of the body panels are all-new and have a contemporary flair to the contouring.
Details like the subtle chrome trimming along the base of the windows look make the sides look pretty upmarket.
The C pillar has been blacked out, while the new vertically aligned ‘flame’ styled tail-lamps get the LED effect.
Nifty roof spoiler at the back to reduce lift- we’re kidding.
The number plate recess moves up from the rear bumper to smack in the middle of the new tail-gate- gets a thick chrome lip as well.Â
The tyres have been downsized from 185 section to 175 section, while the 8-spoke wheels wrapped by Goodyear Assurance Rubber are different from Zest and unique to the Bolt.Â
The cabin remains exactly the same, with everything carried over from Zest. Also there’s no beige option.
In Eco Mode, the instrument cluster glows in green, while City Mode shows blue. In Sport Mode, the cluster comes alive and glows in amber.
Naviation is via Mapmyindia app on your smart-phone. It will also feature a touchscreen multimedia system by Harman that will recognize voice commands, play videos, read out SMS notifications and include touch controls for the the automatic climate-control (below).
Stay tuned for more details soon!
Here’s an exhaustive gallery for the Tata Bolt. What do you guys think? Has Tata got it right on this one?
Overall an unbeatable package from TATA it would be a gamechanger!
Its a fantastic package for its price. Way to go TATA.
Everything looks just top notch. Wish they have used a new platform altogether with slighyly smaller body volume. Vista dimensions look oversized and reduces premium feel. They have anyway upgraded 95% panels. Still whatever is offered its way way better. Good job Tatas.
Commendable job by Tata in comparison to their previous vehicles. Quality and overall build seems to be on par or better in some aspects to competition. Design wise, rear view looks like an indica with some inadequate changes. Which seems to be the only cosmetic let down
It’s very much up there with the competition. Great job TATA. Attention to details is superb. Kindly don’t keep customers waiting, the way you did for Zest.
