After having introduced the petrol variant of the Ameo a few months back, Volkswagen India has now launched the diesel variant of the car. The diesel Ameo has been priced at INR 6.27 Lakh ex-Mumbai for the 5-speed manual version. The 7-speed DSG auto variant of the car (1st in segment) is launched at a starting price of INR 8.41 Lakhs. The Ameo diesel gets the 1.5-litre 4-cylinder Diesel engine delivering 110PS of power. Transmission options as mentioned above, include the first in segment 7-Speed automatic DSG gear box or the conventional 5-speed manual gear box.
