We recently reported that a new Mahindra 110cc automatic scooter is headed our way. Now, the good chaps at Bike Advice have come up with spy pics of a test mule of the soon-to-be-launched Mahindra automatic scooter. It is being said that the upcoming automatic scooter would be showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 and is likely to go on sale towards the commencement of next fiscal.

Currently, Mahindra’s product portfolio consists of three automatic scooters, viz. Duro DZ, Rodeo RZ, Flyte and the 71.5 cc Kine. While the first three scooters in this list are powered by a 125cc engine, the Kine is powered by a 72cc motor. The upcoming automatic scooter though, would feature a 110cc engine that should have power figures at par with those of the Hero Maestro and Honda Activa. This 110cc engine, in all likelihood, will be borrowed from the recently launched Centuro motorcycle.

Commenting on Mahindra’s plans of coming up with yet another automatic scooter, an industry insider said,“The 110cc scooter is MTWL’s utmost priority in the immediate future, following which we will see the ambitious Mojo motorcycle.”

The upcoming Mahindra automatic scooter is highly likely to benefit from several new features that made their debut on the recently launched Mahindra Centuro. These new features could include- LED parking lamps, Remote key, et al.

For the Centuro, the indigenously developed 107cc four stroke single cylinder MCi-5 engine has a max power output of 8.5 PS @ 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.5 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. For the upcoming automatic scooter though, the engine would have a slightly lower power-torque output and will come attached to a CVT transmission.
