New Maruti Baleno variant details revealed; bookings commence

The all-new Maruti Baleno premium hatchback will be launched in India on October 26, and will be exclusively retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s “premium” NEXA outlets, alongside the S-Cross crossover. Bookings for the new Baleno have commenced, with the token amount being INR 25,000. Styled using Suzuki’s new “Liquid Flow” design philosophy, the new Baleno is based on a new generation platform. In India, it will be positioned above the Swift, and primarily compete against the Hyundai Elite i20. The new Maruti Baleno will be available in four variants, and two engine options.

New Maruti Baleno (3)

Engine options on offer for India will be the familiar 1.2-liter VVT petrol engine from the Swift, good for 85 PS @ 6000 rpm and 115Nm of torque @ 4000 rpm, along with the 1.3-liter DDis diesel engine, which makes 75 PS @ 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. Both engines will be clubbed to 5-speed manual transmission, while the petrol engine will also be offered with a CVT gearbox (only on the Delta variant).

New Suzuki Baleno (12)

The new Baleno measures 3,995mm long; 1,745mm wide; 1,470mm high, along with a wheelbase of 2,520mm. Ground clearance will be 180 mm, while the new Baleno will ride on 16″ wheels wrapped around 195/55/R16 tires for the Zeta and Alpha variants.

A total of 7 color options will be offered on the new Maruti Baleno, which are as follows:

  1. I wish tey gave CVT in top variant. First Jazz then this? What is the problem with these car makers?
