Ford brings 24 Hour Roadside Assistance to new markets

Ford reaffirms its promise of a stress free vehicle ownership experience and owners of Ford vehicles in the five new cities of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ranchi, Vishakhapatnam and Trichy can now rest easy knowing that help is just a phone call away with the introduction of the Ford Roadside Assistance (RSA) programme to these new cities.

With the addition of these five cities the Ford RSA outreach increases from 42 to 47 cities across India.

The RSA programme is designed to enhance the overall Ford ownership experience and give Ford customer’s additional peace of mind and security, by providing 24×7 support in the unlikely event of a vehicle breakdown or any other vehicle related emergency.

The gamut of RSA’s services include on-location support in case of minor repairs, jumpstarting the vehicle if the battery is drained, delivering fuel for cars that have run out of fuel, unlocking cars in case of keys locked in or lost, vehicle recovery in case of a major breakdown, and more.

“While we have a laser sharp focus on delivering world-class products that have the Ford underpinnings of Quality, Safety and Smart technologies, our commitment doesn’t stop at the sale of the products. With the expansion of our RSA network, we continue to reiterate our commitment to deliver the same level of satisfaction when it comes to the ownership experience.” said Nigel Wark, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India.

Pioneered in 2007 by Ford India to let Ford vehicle owners drive around with greater peace of mind, the RSA service outreach has been constantly expanding and now covers all Tier-1 cities. In keeping with the Ford promise of Go Further however, the company has, over the last year, introduced the RSA service across 18 new Tier II cities such as Vijayawada, Guntur, Patna, Calicut, Jammu, Bhopal, Baroda, Nasik, Kottayam and Ambala.

“With RSA now being made available in 47 cities, including Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ranchi, Vishakhapatnam and Trichy, we cover 80% of our customer base. We plan to take this outreach up to 85 per cent of our customer base by the end of 2012.This is in line with our expansion plans and will help further enrich the ownership experience for Ford customers,” said P.K. Umashankar, Vice President, Customer Service Operations, Ford India.

Ford’s RSA is set to provide not only real time responses and a stress free ownership experience for the owners of Ford vehicles but also goes a step further in de-stressing the customer in an emergency.

The service has been designed to provide Ford customers the assurance that help is always at an arm’s length, be it a flat tyre, a breakdown on a lonely stretch, running out of fuel, a drained battery or even if the owner has locked the keys inside the car or lost them. While minor repairs can be fixed by a trained Ford technician at the roadside, in case of a major breakdown or a failure in the car’s electrical systems Ford RSA will detail a recovery vehicle to take your car to the nearest authorized Ford workshop.

Continuing to strengthen its Cost of Ownership, Ford India recently inaugurated a record 45 brand new sales and service outlets in 35 cities across India in a single day. With this unique move, Ford India, in the span of just one day, extended its total reach in the country to 230 outlets spread over 123 cities.
