DETAILS: All new Skoda Fabia

| April 11, 2012 | 2 Comments

It is no secret that Skoda Fabia never took the hatchback segment in India by storm. Skoda recently resorted to some aggressive price cutting & promotion and that did help but the car is still far from being as popular as the Suzuki Swift, which flies out of the showrooms. To complicate matters even more, parent manufacturer Volkswagen introduced the Polo some years ago and Fabia suddenly started feeling pretty dated. However, Skoda is all set to come up with the next generation Fabia and the car should hit the showrooms within a couple of years. The Mk3 Fabia looks very European along with continuing to sport the Skoda family look. The new Fabia will make use of the much publicized MQB (Modular Transverse Matrix) platform should be roomier on the inside. The car has more than a hint of VisionD Concept in its styling and that has to be a good thing. Also, the car will share a lot of components and engine options with the next gen Volkswagen Polo. Production of the all new Fabia should take place at Volkswagen’s Chakan plant and we can also safely expect it to greet the all new Rapid soon after the new Fabia hits the roads.
