Volvo XC40 and C40 Renamed

Volvo has introduced new monikers for its XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge – now known as the EX40 and EC40.

This strategic rebranding aligns with Volvo’s commitment across its growing EV family, which includes the EX30 and the EX90.

Performance Upgrade

The EX40 and EC40 not only boast fresh identities but also come equipped with a dynamic Performance software package.

This enhancement elevates the output of their dual-motor powertrain to a staggering 436hp, surpassing the might of the Mercedes-AMG A45 S hatchback.

While Volvo promises “faster acceleration,” specific details regarding the revised 0-100kph time remain undisclosed, leaving enthusiasts on the edge of their seats.

Available Range

For existing owners in select markets, the Performance upgrade is accessible through the Volvo app, promising an enhanced driving experience. The power surge’s impact on the cars’ range is yet to be fully unveiled.

However, Volvo says that the single-motor EX40 and EC40 maintain substantial ranges of 577km and 583km respectively.

What to Expect

Enthusiasts worldwide can anticipate the release of these electrifying models starting May. As Volvo gears up for this global launch, the Indian market eagerly awaits, with the EX40 and EC40 anticipated to grace the roads in the latter half of the year.
