Today is 4 November 2016, the day when Volvo will officially launch their S90 Luxury Sedan in India. A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to lay our hands on the sedan and drove it in and around the scenic ‘Blue City’ of Rajasthan. Jodhpur was the perfect backdrop for the debut of the Volvo S90. We reviewed the D4 Diesel variant of the S90 and boy oh boy, we are impressed. We have tested each and every bit of the Volvo S90 and put up a detailed report on our portal.
At an event in Mumbai, Volvo India will be officially launching the revealing the prices and the variant details of the S90. We shall be updating this post with fresh updates so keep refreshing the page! While the launch is just a few minutes away, here some details of the Volvo S90 luxury sedan.
The Volvo S90 replaces the S80 that has been in the Indian market for a while. It is based on Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform that also the XC90 SUV. The S90 draws power from a 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to an eight speed automatic transmission. This turbocharged unit is capable of producing peak power of 187Bhp and a max torque of 400 Nm.
Speaking of features, the set will include Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, C shaped LED tail lights and twin chrome tipped exhaust pipes divided by a chrome strip running the length of the rear bumper.
