Fully faired Suzuki Gixxer SF to be launched on April 7, 2015

It already is one of our favorite 150 cc motorcycles in the market. However, to extend its appeal towards a larger audience, a fully faired Suzuki Gixxer SF will be launched on April 7, 2015. Expected to be only cosmetically different than its naked cousin, the Gixxer SF will carry MotoGp inspired livery on the fairing, as it also happens to be the year when the manufacturer makes a comeback to the sport.

Mechanically similar to the Gixxer 155, the SF will will be powered by the same 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve motor that churns out 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed gearbox. We wouldn’t be surprised though if the engine is tuned differently on the SF for a better top-end. Although faired, it skimps on other sporty bits like clip-ons or foot-pegs set further away to lend it a more sportier stance. A fun motorcycle for the streets, with some added wind protection and a relatively comfortable riding position, the Suzuki Gixxer SF should have that slight edge over its street fighter cousin, when it comes to some weekend highway cruising. Expect Suzuki to charge a slight premium over the Gixxer 155 for the added cosmetic bits.
