Yamaha M-Slaz ( Xabre ) launched in Indonesia by Rossi : Images, specs, price and video

Yamaha has launched its much anticipated M-Slaz, (termed Xabre for Indonesia). The launch happened at the hands of Valentino Rossi and the motorcycle is priced at Indonesian Rupiah 29.8million, which is equivalent to almost INR 1.5 lakh. This naked version of the R15 is slated for an India launch too, along with a rumoured higher capacity, higher powered version too.

The Yamaha M-Slaz or the Xabre is powered by a 150 cc liquid-cooled SOHC engine with 16.32 PS of power produced at 8,500 rpm and 14.30 Nm of torque delivered at 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six speed transmission.

Available in three colours – black dagger, Gunmetal Katana and Silver Clarent, the motorcycle looks aggressive and has some mention worthy features too. Topping the list of these features is a full-LED headlight system, which makes the motorcycle look great and offers fantastic illumination. Upside down front forks are also on offer. The bike comes with 110/70-17M C 54 front and 130/70-17M C 62 rear tyre.

Using a diamond frame, a snazzy looking fully digital instrument console and a monoshock rear suspension, the motorcycle is highly anticipated in India with an impending unveil at the 2016 Auto Expo. The motorcycle was launched alongside the Yamaha Aerox 125, Yamaha MIO-Z and the Yamaha Mio Fino 125.

Positioned between the Vixion and the Yamaha R15 in terms of price in Indonesia, the M-Slaz has a kerb weight of 135 kg and 1350mm of wheelbase which is slightly (5mm) longer than the R15. The 164 mm of ground clearance is also 4mm more than the fully faired R15.
