2016 Bentley Bentayga luxury SUV.
The Bentley Bentayga is perhaps one of the most awaited car from the British luxury carmaker. The curtains on the Bentayga is set to be lifted somewhere later this year. We have seen this mammoth SUV in all of its camouflaged, stealth glory, but Bentley has spared some luxurious mercy on us and put out an official video of the car’s interior. By the way, for those of you wondering, Bentayga is a name inspired from the Canary Islands’ rocky peaks – Roque Bentayga, and the wilds of the Taiga forests up in the northern hemisphere.
There will be an heads-up display (HUD) which will project navigational info, among others.
The clip reveals, along with the SUV’s name, clearly indicates Bentley’s admiration for nature. You will find out why in the video. Anyway. The interior, in typical Bentley fashion, is oozing with class and is dripping with gadgets. We need not even mention the inclusion of leather, wood, chrome and other luxurious material garnish, which is understood.
This somehow reminds us of the Terrain Response System found in Land Rover cars.
Some bits and pieces in the Bentley Bentayga seem to take cues from other luxury carmakers. This includes the selector knob for the all-wheel drive system, which is placed on the centre console and spectacularly resembles the Terrain Response thing found in Land Rover cars. We reckon it does the same job, basically altering the way the power is sent to the four wheels. The engine start/stop button is placed in the middle of the rotary selector dial thing, which has some chrome finishing around it. Actually, there appears to be loads of chrome touches everywhere in this cabin and why not?
That deer is visible thanks to night vision tech. Do we have this on any German car?
There’s a night vision system which will be very handy if you are into hunting or, when you are driving through inclement weather in the dark. The Bentayga also features a digital instrument console and a HUD, as we said earlier, which displays navigation related data, vehicle speed, adaptive cruise control information etc.
The Bentley Bentayga shares its MLB-Evo platform with the latest Audi Q7, but will be powered by a couple of monstrous V8 and W12 powerplants. There could also be a plug-in hybrid model of the Bentayga. Anyway, watch the video and tell us what you think about this Bentley’s interior.
