UNVEILED: 2013 Range Rover

Only some time back, we posted spy pics and details of the 2013 Range Rover and now, Land Rover has published the first batch of images of the fourth generation of their luxury SUV.

The latest edition of the SUV boasts of all new aluminium monocoque and chassis architecture. All this translates to a weight saving of as much as 420kgs over the outgoing model.”This new aluminium platform delivers significant enhancements in performance and agility, along with an improvement in fuel economy and reduction in CO2 emissions,” said Land Rover in a statement.

The 2013 Range Rover also gets an updated four-corner air suspension, which as per the manufacturer, “delivers flatter, more confident cornering abilities, with natural and intuitive steering feel”. Also, the new Terrain Response system debuts in the latest Range Rover. The new car has a longer wheelbase and 118mm (4.6 inches) of more leg space for rear passengers.

As we had reported earlier, the new gen car gets three engine options- a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol along with two diesel motors in the form of a 3.0-litre TDV6 & 4.4-litre TDV8. All the motors are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
