With sales of 8,529 units in the domestic market & 978 exported units of the Etios series Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold a total of 9,507 units in April 2016. The company had sold a total of 12,325 units in the domestic market and exported 1,334 units of the Etios series in the same month last year. In order to get some action in their sales the company strategically planned the production volumes for the current generation Innova Crysta.

The MPV is all geared to set foot in the Indian market and with this introduction, Toyota hopes to see a growth in their overall sales. Interestingly, Toyota Camry continues its growth spree and has clocked more units when compared to the corresponding period last year. Toyota officials say that the success of Camry Hybrid indicates the willingness of the market to accept alternative fuel technology which not only benefits the environment but also conserves fuel.

While commenting on the monthly sales, N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing – Toyota Kirloskar Motor said that the company is hopeful that the Honorable Court in the next hearing of 9th May 2016 will lift the ban on registration of diesel vehicles above 2000cc in the National Capital Region (NCR), which is impacting Toyota’s sales efforts, as their cars dominate the 2000cc+ diesel vehicle space.
