The newly formed Team Yokohama has started its campaign for the Calendar Year 2015 for the FMSCI Indian Rally championship with a winning note. Team Yokohama’s Rahul Kanthraj and his co-driver Vivek Bhatt, driving a Mitsubishi Cedia for Team Yokohama, has won the IRC 2000cc category (01:38:06) at the Mahindra Adventure Rally of Maharashtra.
Mr. Sanjay Chatterjee, General Manager Sales & Marketing, Yokohama India said “We recently announced TEAM YOKOHAMA for the year 2015. A win at this early a stage is very encouraging for us. Last year we had a podium finish in almost all the races and this year too, the start has been on a winning note”
While speaking at the occasion Team Yokohama’s lead driver Rahul Kanthraj, said “We have started the Year with a Winand that too with a lead of 3 minutes 46 seconds. We hope to continue in this form for the entire season in similar fashion”.
Participating in the 2000 CC Category, the duo of Rahul Kanthraj & Vivek Bhatt started rallying in the year 2000 and has participated in over 75 rallies. Together they have won 4 Group and National championships and finished runners up on 4 other occasions.
Team Yokohama also has Driver – Karna Kadur + Co-Driver M Chandrashekar competing in 1600 CC on a Volkswagen Polo. Yokohma also supports Mr Prithvi Domnic + Co-Driver Pruthvi Ithal in 2000 CC Mr. Domnic is a Yokohama YCN dealer in Bangalore as well as a Motorsports enthusiast.
For Yokohama, Motorsports is today part of its philosophy. The Tyre major has been part of Motorsports events the world over and has completed 10 years as a sole Tyre supplier to WTCC, an FIA World Championship. From 2008 -2010, Yokohama had been the official tyre partner to Red Rooster racing for INRC events.
