EXCLUSIVE: Older KTM Duke 390 motorcycles will NOT get a slipper clutch as retrofit in near future

While the existing KTM customers are awaiting a slipper clutch for their older Duke 390 motorcycles, authorities have denied any news of installation of the aforementioned hardware on models prior to 2015. KTM authorities have confirmed that the older KTM Duke 390 motorcycles will not receive a slipper clutch in the foreseeable future.

As we reported earlier, KTM has equipped the 2015 Duke 390 motorcycles with newer features including the introduction of a slipper clutch to mitigate the effects of engine braking when riders decelerate/aggressively downshift gears. Other upgrades on the new 2015 models include extended service interval.

All motorcycles from 2015 onward receive the slipper clutch and additional upgrades at the same price but insiders have suggested that KTM may hike the prices of the products in the near future.

  1. You gotta be kidding me!!!! So what about the people who bought the bikes earlier and in doing so got KTM to this level of success? They are just going to leave us in the lurch? First the RC390 got the new radiator fan assembly and we are still dealing with the heat!!! And now this? UUNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
